Aromatic spices including cloves, nutmeg, and a hint of black pepper are present, along with slight medicinal hints, typical of Caroni's heavy rums, and a touch of smoky, rubbery nuances.

Palate: This rum is full-bodied and powerful, with a rich and oily texture. The primary flavors include strong notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and treacle. Layers of oak, with vanilla, caramel, and a pronounced smokiness, add complexity. There are dark fruits such as blackcurrants, dates, and a touch of overripe banana, alongside bold spice notes with cinnamon, allspice, and a touch of chili heat.

Finish: The finish is exceptionally long and warming, with echoes of smoky oak, dark chocolate, and a persistent note of black licorice and burnt caramel. The aftertaste is complex and evolving, with a slight bitterness that balances the sweetness and smokiness.
