Bruichladdich Old Skool 10 Year Old 25th Anniversary is a commemorative Islay single malt Scotch whisky created to celebrate 25 years of Islay-centric whisky making at Bruichladdich. Inspired by the distillery’s retro labels of the 1980s, this limited-edition 10 year old expression was distilled using barley grown on Islay and bottled at a generous 50.0% ABV. Old Skool pays tribute to Bruichladdich’s classic house style, combining freshness, fruit and barley sweetness with a gentle coastal character. The whisky was matured primarily in selected first-fill bourbon casks, with a smaller parcel matured in first-fill Sauternes casks. The bourbon oak contributes vanilla, soft fruit and creamy sweetness, while the Sauternes adds an extra layer of ripe stone fruit, honey and richness. The result is a vibrant and beautifully balanced Bruichladdich, with a medley of stoned fruits on the nose leading into soft barley sugar and stewed pear on the palate. At 50.0% ABV, the whisky retains excellent weight and texture while remaining elegant and approachable.
