Nose: Opulent fig preserve, raisin loaf and orange-peel marmalade drift over beeswax-polished oak, walnut shell and a wisp of cinnamon. Palate: Velvet waves of treacle toffee, black-cherry chocolate and sweet malt coat the tongue, followed by clove-spiked caramel, roasted hazelnut and a bright flash of candied citrus peel. Finish: Long, warming and gracefully dry—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, supple oak tannin and a final flourish of vanilla-malt sweetness with faint rancio leather.
