Step back into mid-century Speyside with Strathisla 59 Year Old – 1954 Vintage, Gordon & MacPhail (Cask #907).
Charged into a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt on 20 May 1954, the spirit slumbered for nearly six decades in G&M’s Elgin warehouses before being drawn at natural cask strength on 3 June 2013. Bottled non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, this venerable malt unveils a breathtaking collage of rancio-tinged fruit, antique oak and dark chocolate—an era-defining dram from Scotland’s oldest continuously operating distillery.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Single first-fill Oloroso butt (#907) imparts unrivalled dried-fruit richness, dark chocolate depth and exotic spice.

  • 59 years of dunnage maturation soften Strathisla’s orchard-fruit core into layers of mahogany, resin and polished oak.

  • Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and natural colour—preserving full body, aroma and its deep antique-ruby hue.

  • A once-in-a-lifetime glimpse of 1950s Strathisla craftsmanship—perfect for collectors, sherry-malt devotees and whisky historians.

  • Exemplifies Gordon & MacPhail’s mastery in nurturing long-aged single casks to their peak of elegance and complexity.

Pour a measure of this extraordinary Strathisla and savour an unforgettable union of honeyed depth, opulent Oloroso richness and time-honed sophistication—an historic dram that echoes across decades with every luxurious sip.
