Die Scapa Distillery wurde 1885 von John Townsend in Scapa Flow nahe Kirkwall auf den Orkney-Inseln, unweit des Ufers der Scapa Bay, gegründet. Sie ist eine der wenigen schottischen Destillerien, die noch einige Gärbottiche aus Cortenstahl besitzt und verfügt über lediglich zwei Brennblasen, darunter eine neuartige Wash Still, in die das Gehäuse einer alten Lomond-Brennblase integriert ist. Im Gegensatz zur anderen Kirkwall-Destillerie produziert die Scapa Distillery ausschließlich ungetorften Single Malt Whisky.
Nase: Süß und samtig in der Nase mit Aromen von süßer Clementine und Heidehonig.
Geschmack: Perfekt ausbalanciert und vollmundig mit einer Note von Ingwer und süßen, gebackenen Äpfeln.
Abgang: Reichhaltig, lang, sehr leicht trocken mit einem Hauch von Meer.

Renowned for its craftsmanship, Scapa is one of the few distilleries to retain Corten steel washbacks and features a unique wash still incorporating a modified Lomond still shell.
