Tasting Notes
Ballindalloch Aberdeen Angus 150th Anniversary is a special Speyside single malt Scotch whisky created to celebrate 150 years of the Ballindalloch Estate's renowned Aberdeen-Angus herd. Bottled at 50.0% ABV, this commemorative release brings together whisky matured in 50% first-fill ex-Sherry casks and 50% first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, carefully married to create a beautifully balanced expression of Ballindalloch single malt.
Ballindalloch Estate's heritage extends well beyond Scotch whisky. The estate is home to the oldest pedigree herd of Aberdeen-Angus cattle in the world, a breed that has gone on to achieve remarkable international success. Today, Aberdeen-Angus – widely known as Black Angus – is one of the world's most successful cattle breeds, prized internationally for the exceptional quality of its beef. This limited anniversary whisky celebrates that remarkable connection between Ballindalloch, its land and generations of careful stewardship. The equal marriage of first-fill Sherry and first-fill Bourbon matured whisky brings together two complementary sides of Ballindalloch's character. Sherry casks provide rich dried fruits, warming spice and chocolate, while first-fill bourbon oak contributes vanilla, honey, orchard fruits and creamy sweetness. Bottled at a generous 50% ABV, the result is a rich yet balanced Speyside single malt created to mark an important milestone in the history of the Ballindalloch Estate.
