Balblair-Destillerie
Die Balblair Distillery wurde ursprünglich von John Ross auf der Balblair Farm westlich von Ederton am Südufer des Dornoch Firth gegründet. Obwohl dort vermutlich schon 1749 Whisky destilliert wurde, erfolgte die offizielle Gründung der Balblair Malt Whisky Destillerie 1790. Damals wurden die meisten Güter noch mit Muskelkraft und Schwerkraft bewegt. 1894 erfolgte dann ein Umzug in neue Gebäude direkt neben dem Bahnhof von Ederton, um die Whisky-Blender im Süden besser erreichen zu können. Balblair ist eine fantastische schottische Highland Malt Whisky Destillerie. Das Steingebäude mit Schieferdach hat seinen runden roten Backsteinkamin, das Pagodendach und die Lagerhäuser bewahrt. Das Besucherzentrum der Balblair Distillery heißt Besucher willkommen und bietet Führungen durch die Destillerie an.

Founded by John Ross in 1790 at Balblair Farm, just west of Ederton on the southern shore of the Dornoch Firth, Balblair Distillery is a renowned Scottish Highland malt whisky producer with historical roots tracing back to 1749, when distillation was likely already in progress. In 1894, Balblair relocated to its current site adjacent to Ederton Railway Station, where it has preserved its historic architecture, including a distinctive round red brick chimney, a single pagoda roof, and traditional dunnage warehouses. Known for its dedication to quality and traditional craftsmanship, Balblair Distillery excels in producing exceptional single malt Scotch whisky. The acclaimed Balblair Vintage series features single malts aged from the 1970s to the 2000s, showcasing the distillery’s ability to create rich and complex flavors.
