Tasting Notes
Bruichladdich 15 Year Old Greener Still Bundle brings together two distinctive unpeated Islay single malt Scotch whiskies, headlined by the limited-edition Bruichladdich 15 Year Old Greener Still 25th Anniversary Release at 51.6% ABV. Accompanying it is a rare Bruichladdich 11 Year Old 2014 Micro-Provenance Single Cask #1564, matured in a second-fill Jurançon cask, bottled at 56.5% ABV with just 306 bottles produced.
The fourth release in Bruichladdich's celebrated Still Series, Greener Still continues a collection first established between 2006 and 2008 and instantly recognisable for its striking opaque, colour-coded bottles. While the earlier releases explored the influence of different cask types on Bruichladdich spirit, Greener Still shifts the focus from cask to field, exploring how different approaches to barley cultivation can influence the character of single malt whisky.
Distilled from a combination of Bere, Biodynamic, and Organic barley, Bruichladdich Greener Still has been created to express both flavour and farming philosophy in the glass. Each barley type contributes its own character, coming together in a whisky defined by soft florals, ripe orchard fruits, honeyed sweetness, vanilla, and Bruichladdich's characteristic coastal freshness. Completing the bundle is Bruichladdich 11 Year Old 2014 Micro-Provenance cask #1564, a fascinating single cask release matured in a second-fill Jurançon wine cask. Limited to only 306 bottles at 56.5% ABV, it provides an ideal counterpoint to Greener Still, showcasing Bruichladdich's experimental approach to individual cask maturation alongside its exploration of barley provenance.
