Die Glen Garioch Scotch Whisky-Destillerie ist eine der ältesten noch produzierenden Malt-Whisky-Destillerien Schottlands und wurde 1797 gegründet. Die Highland-Destillerie liegt in der Stadt Inverurie und heißt Besucher herzlich willkommen. Die Wahl des Standorts für die Destillerie durch John und Alexander Manson im Jahr 1797 lag auf der Hand. Oldmeldrum im berühmten Garioch-Tal galt als Kornkammer von Aberdeenshire – bekannt für die Produktion der besten Gerste Schottlands.

Glen Garioch Distillery, established around 1785, stands among Scotland’s oldest working distilleries and is located in Oldmeldrum, part of the Highland whisky region. Currently operating with two stills, it once relied on traditional floor maltings—in use until 1993—giving older releases a subtle smoky note. Today, the core Glen Garioch range features the well-known 12 Year Old, while independent bottlers such as Cadenhead’s and Old Malt Cask occasionally present special single malt expressions. This enduring Highland distillery, steeped in craftsmanship and heritage, continues to captivate Scotch whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
