Tasting Notes
Nase: Mineralisch wie frisch geschnittenes Thunfischsteak und Gischt vom Kieselstrand. Anklänge von tropischen Steinfrüchten, Kumquat und Kokosnuss, begleitet von Estragon und einem zarten erdigen/grünen Raucharoma. Gaumen: Fruchtig-süß, cremig mit einem Hauch von Salz und Rauch. Dieser Islay von der Ostküste erinnert an unreife Bananen oder vielleicht Kochbananen, die im eigenen Blatt auf einem Strandgrill geröstet wurden. Abgang: Ein sanfter Rauchduft klingt nach und lässt Erinnerungen an tropische Strandgrillabende aufleben.

Bunnahabhain Distillery, founded in 1881 on the northeastern tip of the Isle of Islay, sits by Bunnahabhain Bay, overlooking the Sound of Islay. Originally constructed with materials ferried by puffer and unloaded at the distillery pier, it’s now tucked away at the end of a single-track road with spectacular coastal views. Equipped with four large, pear-shaped stills, Bunnahabhain produces Scottish malt whisky for both blends and single malt or single caskbottlings.
