Blair Athol
Die Blair Athol Distillery wurde 1798 gegründet und ist mit ihrer Geschichte aus vier Jahrhunderten eine der ältesten noch produzierenden Malt-Whisky-Brennereien Schottlands. Sie liegt am südlichen Rand von Pitlochry, im Herzen der schottischen Highlands, und war einst an den Hauptstraßen und -bahnstrecken zu den Whisky-Herstellern in Perth, Edinburgh und Glasgow gelegen. 1933 wurde die Brennerei von Arthur Bell & Sons übernommen und wird heute als Heimat der Arthur Bell Blended Scotch Whiskys beworben. Zur Brennerei gehören ein Besucherzentrum und Brennereiführungen. Da ein Großteil des Malt Whiskys von Blair Athol in Blends, insbesondere in Bells, fließt, ist das Angebot an Blair Athol Single Malts recht begrenzt.

Although most of Blair Athol’s malt whisky is destined for Bell’s blends, dedicated whisky enthusiasts can still savor the distillery’s character through independent bottlings, notably in the Connoisseurs Choice and Signatory Vintage ranges—ensuring Blair Athol’s revered legacy continues to captivate Scotch connoisseurs worldwide.
