Glenallachie

Glenallachie Distillery was established in 1967 with two stills which later increased to four in order to meet an ever increasing demand for Glenallachie malt whisky. Glenallachie Distillery is a Scottish Speyside distillery sitting on the eastern edge of Ben Rinnes mountain where it is rather exposed to the elements and is often to be see sitting within the snowline. A modern building and yet its architect William Delmé-Evans created a distillery which is rather pleasing on the eye.

Nose: Opens with a macerated dried fruit quality + a flamed orange zest in dark chocolate style
Palate: Opens sherbety – runs to a rich, sweetly spiced fruit character + more dried orange zest
Finish: Dark, bitter chocolate then running drier with cedar wood and tobacco lingering
