Minimum Age Restrictions

We sell alcoholic beverages only to customers aged 18 or older. By placing an order, you confirm compliance with the legal purchasing age in your country of residence.

New Customers

First-time orders may be shipped only to the cardholder's address unless cardholder password authentication is enabled. For security reasons, additional proof of identity may be requested by email.

Payment

• Full payment is required before shipping.
• Payments can be made online via VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer (contact us for an invoice).
• Telephone orders are not accepted.
• We recommend using 'Verified by Visa,' 'MasterCard SecureCode,' and 'American Express SafeKey' for enhanced security.

Note: We do not store payment card information, distribute, or accept discount vouchers or codes from third-party websites.

Refunds via PayPal

For orders placed outside the UK, refunds via PayPal are at our discretion. Credit notes or gift vouchers may be issued instead.

Taxes & Duties

• Products are subject to UK taxation.
• Orders shipped outside the UK are exempt from UK VAT but may incur local import taxes, payable by the recipient.
• If customs clearance is not completed, the order may be returned, and we will refund the order minus shipping and return costs.

Canada-Specific Policy:
Alcohol consignments shipped to Canada are at the cardholder's risk.  We do not ship to Quebec or Ontario. Additional taxes and fees must be borne by the recipient. We cannot ship gift orders to Canada. Non-deliveries resulting in returns will be refunded minus shipping and return costs.

Shipping Information

• Fully insured consignments with tracking require a signature upon receipt.
• Domestic deliveries: 2-3 business days (subject to stock and conditions).
  • Express next business day for orders placed before 2PM GMT Mon-Fri.
  • Saturday delivery may be available at an additional cost. Please contact us for a quote. 
• International deliveries: 2-5 business days (delays may occur due to customs, weather, or holidays).

Important:

• Please ensure address details are correct at the point of completing an order and let us know of any issues.
• PO Box addresses are not accepted.
• Orders shipped to hotels, businesses, or similar facilities are at the customer's risk once delivered.
• Non-delivered parcels returned to us can be re-shipped (at your expense) or refunded minus shipping and return fees.
• If any changes to the delivery schedule made by the customer/recipient of the consignment e.g. address change, delivery date etc, TWB hold no liability for any delays or loss of the parcel, though we will endeavour to assist.
• Orders held for over 14 days incur a storage fee of £2 GBP per bottle, per week.

Damages, Breakages & Losses

• Report damaged parcels to the delivery driver immediately. Refuse delivery if necessary.
• For delivered items, retain all packaging and contact us with photo evidence within 7 days of delivery. We cannot accept any claims after 28 days.
• For non-delivery, a first point of contact must be made with us within 14 days of the shipping date. We cannot accept any claims after 28 days.
  

Returns & Cancellations

• Customers can cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods.
• Returns must include unopened goods, the original invoice, and be insured during transit.
• Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving returned items. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Availability

We strive for accurate stock updates but cannot guarantee availability. In case of unavailability, we will inform you promptly and suggest alternatives.

Rare & Collectable Bottles

These bottles may have aged packaging or labels. Contact us for condition details before ordering if necessary.

Intellectual Property Rights

All content on The Whisky Barrel website is protected by UK and international copyright laws. Unauthorized use of trademarks, text, or images may result in invoicing for infringement at our nominated rates.

Free Gift Wrapping Promotion – Terms & Conditions

1. Promotion Period: Valid from 00:00 on 1 December 2025 until 11:59 on 14 December 2025.

2. Purchase necessary. 
   
   

3. Eligibility: Customers must be logged into an existing TheWhiskyBarrel.com account or create an account during checkout. No credit will be applied for accounts created after an order is completed.

4. Credit Value: Credit equals the gift-wrap fee paid (base value £6.00 GBP inc. VAT, or the equivalent value in the currency used at checkout) with a valid order. Currency equivalents are calculated using the exchange rate applied at the time of purchase.

5. Application of Credit: Credit is applied to the customer’s The Whisky Barrel store account once the order containing gift wrap has been completed. This may take up to three days to be applied. 

6. How the Promotion Works: Gift wrap is charged at checkout, and the promotional “free” value is provided by issuing an equivalent store credit after the order completes.

7. Validity: Credit is non-transferable, has no cash or alternative value, and is valid for 3 months from the end of promotion period until 14th March 2026. Unused credit will be removed from customer accounts after this date. 

8. Cancellations & Returns: Credit will be withdrawn if the qualifying order is cancelled or returned.

9. General: The Whisky Barrel reserves the right to amend or withdraw this promotion at any time.
