Glenallachie 15 Year Old 1999 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Single cask refill sherry butt #10707 bottled March 2015 by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Old Particular series. 312 bottles.
Glenallachie Distillery was established in 1967 with two stills which later increased to four in order to meet an ever increasing demand for Glenallachie malt whisky. Glenallachie Distillery is a Scottish Speyside distillery sitting on the eastern edge of Ben Rinnes mountain where it is rather exposed to the elements and is often to be see sitting within the snowline. A modern building and yet its architect William Delmé-Evans created a distillery which is rather pleasing on the eye.
NOSE: Lightly honied, rather citric, definitely sweet, certainly spiced.
PALATE: Carries soft toffee tones: full of vanilla, gentle spices & late cough drops.
FINISH: “Fisherman’s Friends” to the fore – dry now & no sweetness apparent.
