Glen Ord 14 Year Old 1999 vintage Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Single refill hogshead #9652 bottled Spring 2013 by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Provenance series.
Glen Ord Distillery was constructed on the western edge of Muir of Ord in 1838. Situated at the head of the Beauly Firth and rooted in prime barley country on the edge of the Black Isle and equipped with six large stills. The adjacent Glen Ord drum maltings supply malted barley to the distillery. Glen Ord Distillery has a visitor centre which offers distillery tours and has participated in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. Most of Glen Ord’s malt whisky flows into Dewar’s and Johnnie Walker blends of scotch and just a little is released as Glen Ord single malt whisky.
Opens with floral and fragrant style on the nose - with herbs and barley warming through. The palate is clean with loads of seeet honey, citrus and malt all apparent - and re-appearing on the finish plus a wee peppery bite within its spicy range of flavours.
