Henry Arnold’s long established West Brewery situated on the banks of the River Lossie was converted into Glen Moray Distillery in 1897. Glen Moray is a Scottish Speyside malt whisky distillery which has increased its range of single malt whiskies in recent years. The distillery has a visitor centre and offers distillery tours. Glen Moray Distillery participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
Nose: Apple juice and pine needles a little nutty, Bread and butter pudding with rich vanilla custard.
Palate: Almost a hint of smoke initially then along comes sponge cake with lemon icing and faint salted liquorice.
Finish: Bakewell tarts lashings of whipped cream with vanilla essence and some ginger notes. Have we just described a cake shop or what!
