Royal Lochnagar 19 Year Old Duncan Taylor Rare Auld

Single cask #356. Bottled 2009, this is a 19-year old Royal Lochnagar from the award winning Duncan Taylor, Rare Auld series. 259 numbered bottles. Royal Lochnagar James Robertson established the original Royal Lochnagar Distillery on the north bank of the River Dee in 1823. Following a fire in 1826 he opened a new Royal Lochnagar Distillery close by the southern banks of the River Dee and in the shadow of Lochnagar Mountain which also supplied the distillery with water from wells on its lower slopes. Royal Lochnagar can claim the royal prefix, a royal warrant and royal neighbours in the summer time. Royal Lochnagar Distillery is a traditional stone built farm-yard style malt whisky distillery complete with a malt kiln and pagoda roof, two stills, square red brick chimney and steamy worm tubs.  The Royal Lochnagar Distillery visitor centre welcomes visitors and offers distillery tours. No tasting notes at present.
