Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old 1997 Old Particular

Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old 1997 vintage Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Single cask refill butt bottled by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Old Particular series. Royal Lochnagar James Robertson established the original Royal Lochnagar Distillery on the north bank of the River Dee in 1823. Following a fire in 1826 he opened a new Royal Lochnagar Distillery close by the southern banks of the River Dee and in the shadow of Lochnagar Mountain which also supplied the distillery with water from wells on its lower slopes. Royal Lochnagar can claim the royal prefix, a royal warrant and royal neighbours in the summer time. Royal Lochnagar Distillery is a traditional stone built farm-yard style malt whisky distillery complete with a malt kiln and pagoda roof, two stills, square red brick chimney and steamy worm tubs.  The Royal Lochnagar Distillery visitor centre welcomes visitors and offers distillery tours.
