Glengyle
William Mitchell established Glengyle Distillery in 1872 in Campbeltown at the foot of the Kintyre Peninsular. Closed in 1925, malt whisky stock sold and all the equipment removed. The buildings were purchased by Hedley Wright in 2000 who re-furbished and re-opened Glengyle Distillery in 2004. Now equipped with two small stills and operating for one or two months per year to produce Glengyle single malt whisky which is called Kilkeran.

1872년 킨타이어 반도 기슭의 캠벨타운에 설립된 글렌가일 증류소는 스코틀랜드 하이랜드 위스키 산지의 유서 깊은 명소입니다. 1925년 운영을 중단한 후, 증류소는 모든 몰트 위스키 재고를 매각하고 장비를 철거했으며, 역사적인 건물만 남겨두었습니다. 2000년, 스프링뱅크 증류소의 소유주이자 윌리엄 미첼의 후손인 헤들리 라이트가 남아 있는 건물들을 인수하여 세심한 복원 작업을 undertook습니다. 글렌가일 증류소는 2004년 성공적으로 재개장했으며, 현재는 두 개의 소형 증류기를 갖추고 매년 한두 달 동안 가동하여 명성 높은 싱글 몰트 위스키인 킬커런을 생산하고 있습니다. 글렌가일 증류소는 부활 이후 정기적으로 워크 인 프로그레스(Work in Progress) 시리즈를 출시해 왔으며, 2016년에는 많은 기대를 모았던 킬커런 12년산을 선보였습니다. 이러한 부활은 증류소의 풍부한 유산을 기리는 것뿐만 아니라 활기 넘치는 캠벨타운 위스키 업계에 기여하며, 글렌가일 증류소를 진정성 있고 뛰어난 싱글 몰트를 찾는 위스키 애호가와 수집가들에게 사랑받는 명소로 만들었습니다.
