Filled on 23 April 1959 into a lone sherry-seasoned hogshead (#3226) and laid to rest in the Grant family’s cool stone dunnage, this venerable Speyside malt slumbered for more than half a century before being drawn at natural cask strength in November 2014. Bottled non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, only 172 individually numbered bottles preserve a spellbinding tapestry of dark fruit, polished mahogany and rancio-tinged spice.
