The Distillery

글렌버기 증류소는 1829년 존 폴이 스코틀랜드의 명성 높은 스페이사이드 위스키 산지인 포레스 서쪽에 킬른플랫 증류소로 설립했으며, 몰트 위스키 생산에 있어 풍부한 역사를 자랑합니다. 처음에는 두 개의 포트 스틸을 갖추고 있었지만, 1958년 로몬드 스틸 두 개를 추가하여 확장하면서 포트 스틸로는 글렌버기를, 로몬드 스틸로는 글렌크레이그를 각각 생산할 수 있게 되었습니다. 1981년에는 로몬드 스틸을 철거하고 포트 스틸 두 개를 추가하여 현재 총 여섯 개의 포트 스틸을 보유하고 있습니다. 현재 글렌버기는 주로 유명한 시바스 블렌드에 사용되는 고품질 몰트 위스키 생산에 집중하며 블렌디드 스카치 시장에서 입지를 굳히고 있습니다. 공식 증류소 출시 물량은 제한적이지만, 글렌버기 싱글 몰트는 고든 앤 에버(Gordon & Eveper)와 같은 독립 병입업체를 통해 높은 인기를 누리고 있습니다. 맥페일은 위스키 애호가와 수집가들에게 이 유서 깊은 스페이사이드 증류소의 뛰어난 위스키를 접할 기회를 제공합니다. 스페이사이드 몰트 위스키 업계의 핵심 주자인 글렌버기 증류소는 장인 정신과 품질에 대한 전통을 이어가며 스코틀랜드의 유명한 위스키 업계에서 존경받는 이름으로 자리매김하고 있습니다.
