Nose Raisins, figs and orange peel with honeyed malt, baked apple, dark chocolate and rich PX sherry sweetness. Palate Full and rounded, with treacle, dates, dark chocolate and caramel alongside orchard fruits, sweet malt and warming spice. Finish Long and warming, with lingering dried fruits, cocoa, orange zest, sweet oak and rich Pedro Ximénez character.

Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026, this 18 year old expression was matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead and bottled at 54.4% ABV. Glen Spey is rarely encountered as a single malt outside independent bottlings, making releases such as this particularly interesting for whisky enthusiasts. Its traditionally light, floral and gently fruity distillery character provides an excellent counterpoint to the richness of a first-fill PX cask, allowing the sherry influence to add depth without completely obscuring the spirit beneath.
