Edradour No.2 8 Year Old Châteauneuf-du-Pape Andrew Symington 40th Anniversary Release is a special Highland single malt Scotch whisky created to celebrate Andrew Symington’s 40 years in the whisky industry. His career began in 1986, and this commemorative bottling marks four decades in whisky with an unusual wine-matured expression from Edradour No.2. Matured in first-fill Châteauneuf-du-Pape hogsheads and bottled in 2026 at 57.1% ABV, it offers a bold combination of rich Highland malt and expressive French red wine cask character. This 8 year old release forms one half of a special anniversary pairing alongside an Edradour No.1 6 Year Old PX Sherry bottling. Drawn respectively from Edradour No.2 and the original Edradour distillery, the two whiskies offer a fascinating opportunity to compare the character of each production stream side by side, while also exploring two very different styles of cask maturation. The first-fill Châteauneuf-du-Pape hogsheads bring layers of dark berries, ripe plum, black cherry and warming spice to Edradour’s naturally rich and weighty spirit. Notes of chocolate, sweet malt and red fruits build through the palate, while the wine casks contribute gentle tannins and savoury depth. Bottled at 57.1% ABV, this is a powerful and distinctive Edradour with plenty of concentration and character.
