Dailuaine 1998 Vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in Refill Sherry Hogsheads and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice range.
Dailuaine Distillery was established by William Mackenzie in 1851 at Carron in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. In 1889 Charles C. Doig was commissioned by Dailuaine Distillery to design a new roof for its malt kiln and the commission resulted in the very first Doig pagoda roof being installed at Dailuaine Distillery. The design proved successful, was rapidly adopted by other distilleries and nowadays it is the iconic symbol of Scotland’s traditional malt whisky distilleries. Unfortunately, Doig’s original roof was destroyed during a fire at Dailuaine malt whisky distillery in 1917.
Nsoe: Aromatic with hints of sweet dried fruits, figs and dates. Earthy and floral aromas develop.
Taste: Rich and mouth coating with dried fruits, and a slightly peppery edge. Dark chocolate and citrus zest flavours linger.
