The Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 Year Old 2013 SYC:01 is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled on the Isle of Islay. Crafted from 100% fully traceable Scottish-grown barley, the grain is malted to 40 parts per million (PPM) phenol content, giving the whisky its distinctive peaty character. mThe spirit was first filled into a combination of first-fill (75%) and second-fill (25%) bourbon barrels. This initial maturation in American oak casks imparted notes of vanilla, honey, and soft oak. After five years, the whisky was recasked into first-fill Syrah wine casks. This additional maturation period introduced layers of red fruit flavors and spice, enhancing the complexity of the whisky.
