Strathmill John Keith established Strathmill Distillery in 1891 on a prim site between the River Isla and the Great North of Scotland Railway. Strathmill is a malt whisky distillery situated in the town of Keith in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. One of a small number of Scottish malt whisky distilleries with purifiers fitted to its spirit stills, between the lyne arm and the condenser, till to produce an elegantly light and fruity malt whisky. Nose: Vanilla custard powder. Red berries. Fragrant.
Palate: Smooth creamy sweet vanilla, buttery and nutty.
Finish: Long mouth drying, slightly floral.

The Distillery

Strathmill Distillery, originally established by John Keith in 1825, operated until 1829 before being converted into a corn mill. In 1891, the site was reconverted into a distillery, nestled between the River Isla and the Great North of Scotland Railway on the outskirts of Keith. Equipped with four stills and retaining its traditional pagoda roofs, Strathmill produces malt whisky primarily for blending, contributing to some of Scotland’s most famous blends. As a result, official releases are rare, making Strathmill a hidden treasure in Scotland's Speyside whisky region.
