Glen Keith 18 Year Old 1997 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Single cask refill hogshead #11405 bottled May 2015 by Hunter Laing & Co. for the Old Malt Cask series. 329 bottles. Glen Keith The old stone built meal mill of Keith was transformed into Glen Keith Distillery in 1957. Originally equipped with three pot stills it produced both double and triple distilled whisky up until 1970 at which time triple distillation ceased. During the 1970s one still was used to concentrate peat flavour in water, flavoured with peat smoke, which was imported from Stornoway. The resulting peated water was used in the production of Craigduff malt whisky and Glenisla malt whisky. Glen Keith was a Scottish Speyside distillery which produced malt whisky for blended scotch and the occasional official bottling of Glen Keith single malt whisky. Although production ceased at Glen Keith in 1999 its buildings remain intact. Nose: Sweet with summer flowers, green apple skins, and vanilla. Palate: Floral and sweet, with pears, apples and boiled sweets. Finish: Sweet and medium length, with a fruity, zesty aftertaste.

The Distillery

Glen Keith
Glen Keith Distillery, originally a stone-built meal mill in Keith, underwent a remarkable transformation by Chivas Brothers Ltd. in 1957. Equipped with three pot stills, it produced both double and triple distilled whisky until 1970, when triple distillation ceased. Notably, one still was once dedicated to intensifying peat flavor in water imported from Stornoway. While Glen Keith primarily produces Speyside malt whisky for blending, its single malts occasionally appear in independent bottlings such as Signatory, Old Malt Cask, and Pearls of Scotland, offering whisky enthusiasts a glimpse of this distillery’s unique craftsmanship.
