Strathmill Back Home, Almost 14 Year Old 2006 is a richly characterful Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, released to commemorate the historic Apollo 10 mission—the full dress rehearsal for the first Moon landing. Fifty-one years ago, the Lunar Module Snoopy descended to within just 15 kilometres of the Moon’s surface before re-docking with the Command Module Charlie Brown. As the spacecraft reunited, pilot Eugene Cernan famously exclaimed: “Man, we is back home. Almost.”
To honour this pivotal moment in space exploration, The Whisky Barrel selected a single sherry butt, distilled in 2006 and bottled in October 2020. This limited-edition release yielded just 685 individually numbered bottles, making it a rare and collectible expression, exclusive to The Whisky Barrel.
Matured in sherry wood, this Strathmill delivers warmth, depth, and sweetness—mirroring the emotion, anticipation, and triumph of a mission that brought humanity one step closer to walking on the Moon.
