Nose: Opulent fig preserve, dark honey and orange-peel marmalade rise above beeswax-polished oak, walnut shell and a dusting of cocoa. Palate: Velvet waves of treacle toffee, malt loaf and dried cherry coat the tongue, followed by clove-spiked chocolate, roasted hazelnut and a bright flash of candied citrus. Finish: Long, warming and elegantly dry—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, gentle oak tannin and a final flourish of vanilla-malt sweetness.
