Tasting Notes

Aromas of poached pears and traditional rhubardb and custard sweets lead, while on the palate notes of strawberry jam are accompanied by Turkish delight and light butter pastry. The finish is rich with cinnamond spice and red apples.
Tomatin 12 Year Old 2010 Amarone Cask is a distinctive Highland single malt Scotch whisky, released as part of Tomatin’s Limited Edition Italian Collection. Distilled in 2010 and initially matured in traditional oak, the whisky was then double matured in Italian Amarone wine casks from the Veneto region before being bottled in June 2023. This elegant wine cask finish enhances Tomatin’s naturally soft and fruity spirit with layers of richness, spice, and dark fruit complexity, creating a refined and modern expression with clear Italian influence.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

Tomatin
Tomatin Distillery, founded in 1897, operated with just two stills until 1956, after which rapid expansions led to 23 stills by 1986, making it Scotland’s largest distillery at the time. Today, it operates with eight stills out of its twelve. Nestled near the Cairngorms National Park at an altitude of 315m, it is Scotland's third-highest distillery, producing distinctive Highland single malts. The official range includes the Tomatin 12 Year Old, 18 Year Old, and the peated Cu Bocan series, showcasing the distillery’s versatility and commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.
