This Talisker has been double-matured in a second cask after the original maturation period. The experience is older, sweeter and richer than the regular bottlings.
Talisker Distillery was established at Carbost on the Isle of Skye off the west coast of Scotland in 1830. Soaking up its own reflection from Loch Harport one day yet fending off North Atlantic gales the next. Talisker is a Scottish Islands malt whisky distillery equipped with five stills and has retained its traditional five round wooden worm tubs. Visitors are welcome at the distillery visitor centre where tours of Talisker Distillery are available.
Very clean and intense, with light smoke soon appearing. Creamy toffee, with pronounced fruit acidity. The palate is sweet to start, with smoke and tar abruptly exploding around the middle of the mouth. Sweet-centred, a little like liqueur chocolate.
