Journey to the dawn of modern Scotch with Strathisla 58 Year Old – 1953 Vintage, Gordon & MacPhail (Cask #1614).
Laid down on 19 June 1953 in a single sherry-seasoned butt and quietly nurtured in Elgin for almost six decades, this venerable Speyside malt was drawn at 43 % ABV on 21 November 2012. Bottled non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, it reveals an exquisite collage of dark fruit, polished mahogany and subtle rancio leather—an irreplaceable glimpse of Strathisla’s post-war craftsmanship.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Single sherry butt (#1614) bathes Strathisla’s orchard-fruit core in decadent dried-fruit richness and polished oak.

  • 58 years of dunnage maturation layer mahogany depth, honeyed resin and subtle rancio complexity onto the spirit.

  • Bottled at 43 % ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural colour—preserving full body, aroma and its deep antique-ruby hue.

  • A rare portal to 1950s Strathisla—ideal for collectors, sherried-malt connoisseurs and whisky historians.

  • Exemplifies Gordon & MacPhail’s mastery in stewarding ultra-mature single casks to peak elegance and harmony.

Pour a measure of this extraordinary Strathisla and savour an unforgettable union of honeyed depth, opulent sherry richness and time-honed sophistication—an historic dram that resonates long after the final sip.
