TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: A delightful blend of fresh orchard fruits like green apples and pears from the bourbon cask influence greets the senses. This is complemented by the nutty and slightly dry aroma of toasted almonds and hazelnuts imparted by the Amontillado sherry casks. Subtle hints of honey, vanilla, and a touch of sea salt reflect Springbank's coastal character, along with a gentle waft of earthy peat smoke adding depth.
Palate: The palate is rich and complex, starting with sweet notes of caramel, toffee, and vanilla from the bourbon maturation. This sweetness is beautifully balanced by the dry, nutty flavors of the Amontillado sherry casks—think roasted almonds, walnuts, and a hint of oak spice. Fruity undertones of dried apricots, sultanas, and a touch of orange zest emerge, all woven together with Springbank's signature briny notes and a soft, smoky undertone.
Finish: Medium to long, the finish is warming and satisfying. Lingering notes of nutty dryness and gentle spice fade into a subtle smokiness. A pleasant hint of maritime saltiness and mineral notes leaves a clean and slightly dry aftertaste, inviting you to take another sip.
