The original Speyside Distillery resided and flourished in Kingussie from 1895 until 1905 before being demolished in 1911. Construction of the present Speyside Distillery commenced in 1962 and was completed in 1987, the stills were fired into life just the right side of Christmas 1990. Speyside Distillery is a small malt whisky distillery equipped with just two stills and is situated near Drumguish and Kingussie and close to the River Tormie, a tributary of the River Spey, near Kingussie in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region.
The aromas is floral with fruit and a touch of vanilla. Flavours of dried fruits with a soft nutty and long creamy finish. Mellow cinnamon and sweet oak with a gentle and rounded aftertaste. A very approachable and satisfying malt whisky with bags of character.
