Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of plump raisins, vanilla-laced pastries, and gentle floral notes, underpinned by a soft citrus zest Palate: A silky procession of ripe apricots, chocolate-covered dates, and creamy honey, seamlessly integrated with whispers of nutmeg and ginger Finish: Warm and lasting, carrying the sweetness of PX-soaked fruit and a final flourish of delicate oak spice
Royal Brackla 10 Year Old 2014, part of the exclusive Signatory Small Batch Edition #17. Originally distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025, this distinguished single malt is treated to a finishing period in 1st Fill Pedro Ximinez Hogsheads, imparting a luxurious layer of sweetness and depth to the spirit’s naturally elegant profile. Renowned as a “Royal” distillery, Brackla’s graceful character aligns beautifully with the richness of PX, resulting in a balanced interplay of fruity charm, honeyed spice, and subtle sherry warmth. Unchill-filtered and bottled in limited quantities, this expression captures the noble spirit of Royal Brackla, offering a fresh twist on tradition. The PX influence heightens the orchard fruit core, making each sip an opulent treat for both newcomers and seasoned whisky lovers. Why We Think You’ll Love It:
  • Combines Royal Brackla’s hallmark refinement with a luxurious PX sherry finish
  • Showcases a harmonious balance between orchard freshness, sweet complexity, and gentle spice
  • A small batch release, offering a rare glimpse into the elevated artistry of this esteemed Highland distillery

The Distillery

Royal Brackla
Royal Brackla Distillery, founded in 1812 by William Fraser in the grounds of Brackla House near Nairn, holds a prestigious place in Scotland’s whisky history. Its still house, overlooking a picturesque line of three ponds, creates a stunning reflection on calm days. Awarded the Royal Warrant by King William IV in 1835, it is one of only three distilleries to bear the "Royal" title. Believed to be a component in Andrew Usher’s first legally blended Scotch in 1860, the distillery’s releases include the Royal Brackla 12, 16, and 21 Year Olds, celebrated for their elegance and heritage.
