Pittyvaich 29 Year Old 1993 Connoisseurs Choice is a rare and highly collectible Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from the closed Pittyvaich Distillery, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their renowned Connoisseurs Choice series. Distilled in 1993 and matured for 29 years in a single refill American hogshead (#3723), this exceptional expression was bottled in July 2022 for the United Kingdom market, with just 159 bottles released.

Pittyvaich is one of Speyside’s more elusive silent distilleries, with remaining stocks becoming increasingly scarce and sought after. Refill American oak maturation allows the spirit’s natural character to shine, delivering a refined profile of orchard fruits, vanilla sweetness, and gentle spice, enhanced by decades of careful ageing.

The Distillery

Pittyvaich
Pittyvaich Distillery, a closed and demolished Scotch whisky distillery, was founded in 1975 by Arthur Bell & Sons in the Speyside whisky region to meet the high demand for Bell’s Blended Whisky. With declining demand, the distillery ceased operations in 1993 and was demolished in 2002, becoming one of Scotland’s lost distilleries. Rare single malt Scotch whisky from Pittyvaich had previously been included in Diageo’s Flora & Fauna range and now occasionally features in Diageo Special Releases and Gordon & MacPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice series, making it a sought-after collector’s gem.
