Tasting Notes

Nose: Gentle bonfire smoke and sea-spray weave through blossom honey, lemon zest, vanilla pod and a hint of coconut shavings. Palate: Silky bursts of toffee apple, sweet malt and citrus glide across the tongue, followed by cracked black pepper, toasted almond and a subtle thread of heathery peat. Finish: Medium-long and lightly drying—lingering salted caramel, soft oak spice and a final flourish of smouldering peat embers.
Unlock Orkney intrigue with Mystery Malt 11 Year Old – 2013 Vintage, Lady of the Glen (widely believed to be from Kirkwall). Distilled on the windswept isle and matured full-term in a single first-fill bourbon barrel (#10001), this whisky was bottled in March 2025 at natural cask strength. Non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, only 203 individually numbered bottles reveal an enticing marriage of heather-tinged peat, coastal brine and creamy vanilla sweetness—showcasing the distillery’s signature balance of island smoke and honeyed malt.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Full-term maturation in a first-fill bourbon barrel amplifies vanilla cream, coconut and bright citrus against gentle island smoke.

  • 11 years balance youthful vibrancy with refined oak and subtle Orkney peat.

  • Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and natural colour—preserving full body, aroma and authenticity.

  • Limited to just 203 bottles in Lady of the Glen’s single-cask range—perfect for collectors and peat-curious palates seeking a rare, bourbon-driven Highland Park.

Pour a dram of this enigmatic Orkney malt and savour an invigorating union of honeyed fruit, coastal brine and understated peat—an unforgettable whisky that proves mystery can be delicious.
