Bottle Information
Tasting Notes
Speyside (Macallan) 21 Year Old 2005 is an exceptional Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, personally selected for the prestigious Signatory Vintage Symington’s Choice series. Distilled in 2005 at the undisclosed Macallan Distillery and matured in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt (#108), this rare expression was bottled in 2026 at a formidable 59.4% ABV. The cask yielded just 635 individually numbered bottles, offering a remarkable opportunity to experience mature Macallan from one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers. Released under the Speyside name, this whisky originates from Macallan, a distillery internationally renowned for its affinity with sherry-seasoned oak and long maturation. After 21 years, the first-fill Oloroso sherry butt has developed extraordinary richness and depth, bringing layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, orange peel, and warming spice to the whisky’s naturally full-bodied malt character. Bottled without chill-filtration or added colour, this is a powerful and luxurious expression of mature sherried Speyside whisky.
