Mystery Malt (Macallan) 21 Year Old 2005 Signatory Symington’s Choice
Bottle Information
Speyside [M] 21 Year Old 2005 Signatory Symington’s Choice is an exceptional Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 2005 at the undisclosed Macallan Distillery and independently bottled by Signatory Vintage for its prestigious Symington’s Choice collection. Matured in single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt #103 and bottled in October 2026 at a powerful 59.2% ABV, this 21 year old release offers a rare opportunity to experience mature Macallan-origin spirit in independently bottled form. Released under the discreet Speyside [M] designation, this whisky combines more than two decades of maturation with the rich influence of first-fill Oloroso sherry oak. The cask brings layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and warming spice, while the underlying spirit retains the weight, fruit and structure associated with mature Macallan-origin single malt. At 59.2% ABV, the whisky retains impressive concentration and intensity for its age, with the high strength carrying the sherry richness beautifully. The result is a deep, full-bodied and highly expressive Speyside malt with a classic old-school sherry profile and excellent collector appeal.
