TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: An immediate wave of rich, sherry-driven aromas emerges—imagine opening a freshly baked fruitcake. Densely packed notes of dried figs, raisins, and black cherries mingle with creamy milk chocolate and toasted walnuts. Underlying layers of polished antique leather, faint pipe tobacco, and subtle orange zest lend complexity, while a gentle hint of roasted espresso beans drifts in as the whisky opens up.
Palate: Luxuriously full-bodied, the palate matches the nose in indulgence. Ripe plums, stewed dates, and spiced fruit compote lead the charge, wrapped in a velvety layer of caramel fudge and praline. A sprinkling of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg adds structure and warmth, while a delicate undercurrent of charred oak and dark cacao rounds out the experience, preventing the sweetness from overwhelming.
Finish: Long, graceful, and deeply comforting. The fruit and chocolate notes gradually fade into a gentle dryness reminiscent of well-seasoned oak, leaving a lingering afterglow of sherry-soaked dried fruits, light espresso bitterness, and just a whisper of toasted almond. The result is a beautifully balanced finale that lingers on the palate, inviting one more contemplative sip.
