Mortlach 15 Year Old 2001 Melon and Orange Melange Wemyss

Nose: Sweet fruits; Melon, pineapple, peach and buckets of orange saturated in honey syrup. There are mild herbal scents, perhaps green tea with a backbone of gentle cinnamon spice and hints of coconut and vanilla. Palate: Unusually fruity and less meaty than what you would perhaps normally expect from this 2.7 times distilled Speyside malt. Juicy honeydew melon, Seville oranges and nectarines stewed together in a fruit cocktail. Finish: Once the fruitiness subsides creamy vanilla sponge notes conclude this beautiful whisky.
