Macduff Distillery was established in 1962 near the coastal town of Macduff on the banks of the River Deveron which rises in the mighty Grampian Mountains, and just north of the site of the lost Mill of Banff Distillery. Macduff Distillery is a malt whisky distillery equipped with five stills and contributes to Dewar’s blends of scotch. Glen Deveron is the name given to official bottling of Macduff malt whisky and Macduff to the malt whisky bottled by independent bottlers. Macduff Distillery is situated in Scotland’s Highland whisky region.
Nose: Rich dried fruit aromas, orange peel, a touch of liquorice and background smoke.
Palate: Full bodied – the sweet sherry coats the mouth with plenty of dried fruit and teasing sweetness.
Finish: Long and warming finishes with dark toffee and peppery spice.
