Tasting Notes
Full bodied, sweet and slightly spicy on the palate. Smooth with a long lasting warming finish. Rich, fruity, full bodied flavours characteristic of The Macallan house style. Heather honey, vanilla, custard, banana and summer fruits. Dry oloroso with sultanas and raisins: Christmas cake in a glass. Tangerines with cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.
This Macallan 28 Year Old 1989 is an extraordinary Speyside single malt Scotch whisky drawn from a single sherry cask (#1047). Distilled in 1989 at the iconic Macallan Distillery, it was matured for nearly three decades before bottling in November 2017 by Hart Brothers for their prestigious Legends Collection. Just 240 individually numbered bottles were released.

Macallan
The Macallan Distillery, founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 as Elchies Distillery near Easter Elchies House—a site dating back to 1700—is a prestigious Speyside malt whisky distillery. Re-commissioned in 2008, the distillery now operates with two still houses housing twenty-one copper stills. A new state-of-the-art facility is under construction, expanding capacity to thirty-one stills and solidifying Macallan’s position among the top whisky producers by volume. On-site maturation occurs in traditional dunnage warehouses and modern large warehouses on the estate. Renowned for its exquisite single malts, popular releases include the Macallan 18 Year Old and the Macallan 30 Year Old.
