Longmorn-Glenlivet 25 Year Old 1990 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Single bourbon barrel bottled 2015 by Cadenhead's for the Small Batch series. 132 bottles.
Longmorn Distillery was established in 1893 just north of Fogwat and beside the Strathspey Railway which whisked its deep and sumptuous whisky south to the scotch blenders. Longmorn Distillery is a Speyside malt whisky distillery and is now equipped with eight stills. Although Longmorn Distillery does not have a visitor centre it often participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival when a few lucky visitors can tour the distillery.
Nose: Dried oranges lemon rind with candied ginger and clotted cream. This is a dram to savour from the nose alone.
Palate: Very creamy with hints of strawberries. Lots of vanilla with some salted butter and golden syrup. Possibly the best Longmorn I have tasted for some time.
Finish: Slightly salty in the finish with faint spice giving way to vibrant grassy notes and hints of lime cordial. This is a rather enjoyable dram from the great Longmorn distillery that I am going to recommend as an after dinner dram.
