Linkwood 1991 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Double matured in Cote Rotie casks for 30 months and bottled in 2011 by Gordon & MacPhail for the Private Collection series.
Linkwood Distillery was established in 1821 by Peter Brown in the Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. Linkwood Distillery is a malt whisky distillery equipped with six stills and whilst a large percentage of Linkwood whisky flows into blends of scotch an increasing volume is appearing as single malt whisky and there are some excellent independent releases of Linkwood single malt whisky. Linkwood Distillery participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
Nose: Soft and ripe summer fruit notes initially, with a defined of sweet wine. Light hints of charred oak and a stewed plums edge.
Taste: Hints of cracked pepper with a raspberry edge. Warming and smooth with a burst of dark chocolate.
