To mark the 2008 opening of London-Heathrow’s T5, distillery manager John Campbell married whisky from nine specially selected casks—laid down in the mid-1980s and left to mature beside the Atlantic for over two decades. Bottled at a respectful 48 % ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, the release is limited to 750 individually numbered bottles. Expect the distillery’s signature medicinal peat tempered by time into layers of sweet vanilla, tropical fruit and polished oak: a one-off Laphroaig that takes your senses straight to Islay—via Terminal 5.
