Refill hogshead finished in a rum barrel #5090. Laphroaig Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 on the rocky south coast of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Laphroaig is a malt whisky distillery which continues to malt barley using its traditional malting floors and malt kiln. In 1994 Laphroaig was awarded the Royal Warrant. Visitors are welcomed at the Laphroaig Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. Laphroaig Distillery participates in Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music. Soft spice percolates its big Islay peated style. The palate is smooth, well oiled - then warms to ash and tar with a well rounded soft finish.
