Laphroaig 18 Year Old Diamond Jubilee

To celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 60th year on the throne, Laphroaig Distillery has released 3,000 bottles of limited edition 18 Year Old single malt Scotch bearing Prince Charles’ Royal Warrant. Pre-Order shipping June 2012. Laphroaig Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 on the rocky south coast of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Laphroaig is a malt whisky distillery which continues to malt barley using its traditional malting floors and malt kiln. In 1994 Laphroaig was awarded the Royal Warrant. Visitors are welcomed at the Laphroaig Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. Laphroaig Distillery participates in Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music.  Soft, sweet and spicy Islay peat smoke greets you when you first open the bottle. The immediate taste is an oak sweetness, from 18 years in the barrel. A faint hint of the sea, testimony to its time maturing on the remote island of Islay.
