Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 on the rocky south coast of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Laphroaig is a malt whisky distillery which continues to malt barley using its traditional malting floors and malt kiln. In 1994 Laphroaig was awarded the Royal Warrant. Visitors are welcomed at the Laphroaig Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. Laphroaig Distillery participates in Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music.
Nose: Medicinal notes balanced with clotted cream, hints of lemon & ginger, dry roasted peanuts. Palate: Lots of ash and smoke, creamy medicinal notes, watermelon and papaya. Finish: Dry ash, sweet fruits, damp drift wood.
