Tasting Notes
Nose: A fusion of peat smoke and ripe red berries, lifted by a subtle coastal breeze and wisps of toasted oak
Palate: Juicy dark fruit and bramble jam open the palate, underscored by tangy citrus and Kilchoman’s robust smoky core
Finish: Long and warming, merging soft fruit sweetness, a gentle winey edge, and lingering peat embers that elegantly fade.
Embark on a richly peated journey with Kilchoman Port Cask Matured 2024 Edition, fully aged in Ruby Port Hogsheads. Uniting spirit from two contrasting ages— with the youngest at 6 years old—this limited release accentuates Kilchoman’s signature Islay smoke with the berry-rich undertones of Port wood. Crafted in small batches and reflecting Kilchoman’s farm-to-bottle ethos, it offers a new facet of the distillery’s bold, maritime character.
Why We Think You’ll Love It:
- Full-term maturation in Ruby Port Hogsheads, marrying sweet, berry-driven notes with classic Islay peat
- Showcases Kilchoman’s farm distillery spirit—robust, smoky, and distinctively handcrafted
- Balances two contrasting ages, adding depth and complexity beyond standard port finishes
- Perfect for those seeking a fruit-forward peat experience, where Port influence and Islay smoke unite
Revel in this distinctive Kilchoman release—an inspired interplay of deep, fruity port flavors and the bracing, smoky essence of Islay tradition.

The Distillery
Kilchoman
Kilchoman Distillery, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is beautifully situated at Rockside Farm near the historic Kilchoman Cross and Kilchoman Church on the west side of Islay. As the island’s newest and most westerly distillery, Kilchoman specialises in producing exceptional single malt whisky through a field-to-bottle process, malting barley grown in Rockside fields and using pure local Islay water. Operating with just two small stills, Kilchoman is one of Scotland’s smallest working distilleries. Distinguished bottlings include Kilchoman Loch Gorm and Kilchoman Sanaig, highly prized by whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
